Most people would like to be able to stop thinking about thoughts that are undesirable or unnecessary, but they find it hard to accomplish. Also most people would like to have wiser and more intelligent thinking so they can live a better life. These are good ideas, but without a practical way to accomplish them, they are not of much help to us.
There is a principled logic behind the human experience that is not always visible. This logic brings a precise and profound revelation about the nature of mental life and how it works. As we have insight about this we begin to see how this logic works in our own psychological experience.
Throughout time it has been enlightening for humanity when we have been able to tell the difference between how something actually works, and how it does not. When humankind uncovers fundamental knowledge, knowledge that has always existed but not previously been comprehended on a large scale, there is a paradigm shift, an evolutionary leap in our development. The comprehension that the earth is round, that we exist in a sun-centered solar system, and that germs are a reality affecting human health, are all examples of evolutionary leaps where we have been able to understand how these systems actually work and, therefore how they do not. A revelation of this order, that uncovers a deeper pre-existing logic, will rule out superstitions, competing theories and self-made philosophies that were previously thought to be true.
The Three Principles Paradigm is a fundamental leap in our comprehension of human psychology. A logic is revealed about the inseparable nature of thought and feeling that sheds tremendous new light. Thought and feeling are two sides of the same coin. Although we are often deceived by believing that thought and the feeling of thought can be separated, in truth, they are inseparable. When we believe they can be separated, we have no option other than to experience that our feelings are coming directly from some other source, without thought being involved.
This psychological paradigm establishes that we are constantly experiencing our life through the principle of thought. We cannot psychologically experience life without ‘thought in the moment’ being included as the source of how we feel. In practical terms this means that although it might look and feel like it, circumstances, people, the past or the future cannot be the source of our feeling and perception. This is not saying that the subject of what we are thinking about is not real. It is saying, we are only feeling our thinking in the moment about what we are thinking about. The object we are thinking about does not have the power to dictate how we feel.
Massive amounts of thinking fall off our minds when we start to eliminate the idea that something other than ‘thought in the moment’ can be the origin of how we feel. This is completely different from, and deeper than the self-development, analyzing, personal accomplishment or will power. When we see insightfully that something is illogical and impossible it becomes less tempting to believe in or consider, and it will naturally and logically fall away.
Discovering this distinction, between how we do and do not work, is like finding a wise sorter. It sorts out for us thoughts we had on our mind that were based on an illogical idea of how our thought and feeling work. Causes for our feelings that were previously thought to be viable get rendered illogical and non-viable. There is no way to imagine how many different thoughts, dilemmas, or unnecessary ideas will no longer be coming to mind.
We can all experience the insight that we are living in the feeling of our thinking, moment to moment. This is what we’re calling the inside-out paradigm of life. Here, we encounter the pre-existing foundation of mental health, resilience and psychological safety that is everyone's birth-right. This is what you are invited to explore through our website.
We are Keith Blevens and Valda Monroe. We are married and we have a unique shared experience that inspires us to want to collaborate and work together. In 1977 we met a man named Sydney Banks, who insightfully learned how our thought and the feeling of our thought works to bring us our experience of life. Within the blueprint of what he learned a deep spiritual direction became surprisingly obvious that has added great clarity and meaning to our lives. Sydney was our friend and mentor to us up until his death in 2009. We have benefited far beyond any personal expectations for our lives, as have most people who learned from what Sydney taught.
Sydney pointed to insight as the active change agent in his experience. He did not teach people to do things to try to change. Instead, he pointed directly to the power of insight. He was changed through insight and that is what he taught. In a world where most things are lateral Sydney went deep. He taught at a level such that when people learned from him it changed them. In pointing to the inseparable principles of mind, consciousness and thought at the very core of all mental life he taught an airtight logical look at human experience that proves to be the first psychological paradigm with no exceptions.
This is not rocket science but it is more than a five minute conversation. It helps people to change in ways most thought would be too hard or even impossible. Our thinking habits started to change through this deeper understanding of how we experience life through the three principles, which is a more powerful way to change than will power. For us, stubborn habits of judgement and criticism got revealed and began to fall away. Repetitive, habitual thought is often revealed and falls away. It is so meaningful to experience these sort of changes in yourself, to lose thinking patterns that were interfering with treating loved ones well. To naturally be less reactive and to honestly be more compassionate and loving. Creativity comes more easily too, and all these things come about not from active doing on our part. As we become more aligned with the innate logic of how our experience works the deeper feelings of life such as compassion, gratitude, love, joy and forgiveness logically replace more shallow feelings.
Over the last 12 years we have been discovering ways to teach and share this paradigm of wisdom so it is as practical for others as it has been for us. The Three Principles Paradigm provides a practical teaching that anyone can comprehend that reveals a more insightful and wiser way to go forward.
Keith Blevens, Ph.D.
Keith is a Clinical Psychologist and Three Principles educator, trainer and consultant. He has been working with professionals, organizations, individuals, couples and families for over 40 years helping them to see a deeper order of psychological functioning that allows them to navigate a better experience of life.
He was mentored by Sydney Banks for 32 years. It was through Mr. Bank’s influence that Keith began to realize the absolute connection of thought to all feeling, whether positive or negative. He saw that his was the practical, precise, “only works one way,” paradigmatic logic that Psychology had always searched for.
At the specific request of the late Sydney Banks, Keith is working on a book with Valda about this paradigm.
Valda is a three principles paradigm leader, teacher and consultant. She does not bring degrees and doctorates to the principles, she does bring a deep respect for logic and an out of the box viewpoint that is cutting edge. Clients find her consulting and teaching to be extremely insightful, practical, and accessible.
Valda has pioneered a unique template for teaching the essence of Sydney Banks' work as a paradigm which helps people insightfully recognise when they are aligned with the principled logic of how their thought and feeling work and when they are not. She has designed programs for hospital systems, leaders, coaches and counsellors.

Brett Chitty and Tess Christy are our partners and co-creators of this website. Originally, Keith and Brett gravitated towards each other out of a deep interest in insightfully understanding the Three Principles as a paradigm. They have spent many hours talking with one another, sharing insights and laughing together. As kindred spirits who found one another it was natural that they began working together on projects. As we became busier Brett brought Tess into the team. He knew what we needed and she was a perfect fit. They both have deep insight into the Three Principles taught as a Paradigm which allows us to collaborate at an exciting level. Everyone has a well developed sense of humor too, which is always a plus. Over the past year, our inspiration to create an online medium to share our work more widely has been our collective focus.
We deeply respect and appreciate Tess and Brett's individual contributions.
